Rock the Block Party
Come “Rock the Block” on Saturday, May 17 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., in the Sophia Street parking lot in downtown Fredericksburg. Rock the Block is presented by the City of Fredericksburg and will feature live music from the Glass Onion Band, family-friendly activities, food and a beer garden. Parking is available throughout the historic downtown area or in the city parking garage on Wolfe Street.
Rock the Block is free to runners of the Marine Corps Historic Half with a special wristband, available at the City of Fredericksburg Expo booth at the Healthy Lifestyle Expo. The general public is invited to the Rock the Block party. Admission is $3 for ages 21 and up, $2 for ages 5-20. Admission is free for kids 4 and under. University of Mary Washington Concert on Campus
The University of Mary Washington will host a free Concert on Campus on May 17 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to hear Midnight Spaghetti and the Chocolate G-Strings perform in Ball Circle. Refreshments will be available from Sodexho, UMW's dining service. Fredericksburg Art Festival
Participants and the general public are invited to a special exhibit of artists and fine craftspeople, held in lovely Hurkamp Park in Old Town Fredericksburg. Each year art lovers enjoy this display of talent and quality. This year’s exhibits include: paintings, sculpture, photography, handcrafted furniture, jewelry, watercolor, quilts, pottery … and more! Held outdoors, near the corner of William and Prince Edward Streets, the Festival is FREE and open to the public on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.
