Runners will love the musically magical experience of RunStock, an evening 5K race with on-course entertainment and a post-race concert, to be held on August 15, 2009 beginning at 7:15 p.m. at Barnett Field on Marine Corps Base Quantico. Online registration for RunStock is now open.
Registration
Online registration for RunStock is now open and is open to runners ages 10 and older. The $30 registration fee includes all race materials including the official tie-dye event shirt, bib, hospitality and more. REGISTER NOW!
Younger runners (ages nine and under) can register for just $5 as a noncompetitive runner and receive the same great services, including an official event shirt, but will not be chip timed.
Post Race Concert
Post race, participants can relax with family and friends and enjoy musical entertainment from a live band, Rome In A Day. Featuring equal parts modern rock edge and soulful vocal styling, RunStock headliner, Rome In A Day, offers electrifying original music featuring strong male and female vocals combined with pure rock adrenaline. Members include front man James Stevens, drummer Adam Lee, lead guitarist Ali DiPippo and bassist Jay Brazao. The group has performed at several of the region’s top venues and events, such as the 930 Club, Shamrockfest and DC101’s Last Band Standing Competition.
The free concert is open to the general public. Food and drink will be available for purchase from a variety of vendors.

Course
Runners are treated to a scenic 3.1 mile journey through Marine Corps University and the Town of Quantico, the only town in the U.S. to be completely surrounded by a military reservation. Runners can expect a moderately easy course with rolling hills.
RunStock utilizes Chronotrack Timing Systems, Inc. to record the results of runners. Each runner is provided a Disposable Timing Tag (D-tag) as part of their race materials. Learn more about the D-tag.
Packet Pick-up
Runners will be required to pick up their bib, chip and other race materials prior to the event. Be sure to print the confirmation page and bring it with you to Packet Pick-up, to be held at the Marine Corps Marathon building on Friday, August 14 between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Runners are encouraged to attend Packet Pick-up prior to race day. However, packets will be available on race day at Barnett Field from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

The MCM building is located at 3399 Russell Road, aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico in Quantico, VA.
From North: Take I95 South toward Richmond and take Exit 148, proceed toward Marine Corps Base,
Quantico by taking right at end of ramp. Drive through the gate, be prepared - ID is required.
The Marine Corps Marathon will be the first building on left, adjacent to Commissary and Exchange.
From South: Take I95 North toward Washington DC and take Exit 148, proceed toward Marine Corps Base, Quantico by taking right at end of ramp. Drive through the gate, be prepared - ID is required. The Marine Corps Marathon will be the first building on left, adjacent to Commissary and Exchange.
Please note: Many GPS systems do not have updated address information for the Marine Corps Marathon.
Race Day Directions and Parking
From North: From I95 South toward Richmond and take Exit 150A toward Triangle/Quantico, proceed to Marine Corps Base, Quantico and enter through the front gate, ID is required. Follow main road to the designated parking
locations as noted by street-level signs.
From South: Take I95 North toward Washington DC and take Exit 148, proceed toward Marine Corps Base, Quantico by taking left at end of ramp. Drive through the gate, be prepared - ID is required. Follow main road to the designated parking locations as noted by street-level signs.
Free parking will be available in designated lots aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Awards
Awards are based on chip time and will be presented to the top male and female finishers, the top male and female masters finishers.
Age group awards will be distributed to the male and female winners of each age group. Age groups are divided as follows: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and older.
After crossing the finish line, the top 400 finishers will receive commemorative challenge coins, presented by MCM Event Series sponsor Marine Federal Credit Union.
Results will be posted online shortly after the event.
